Emily Labutta, APC

Do you find yourself feeling stuck or exhausted? I specialize in working with anxious over-achievers, intellectualizers, people-pleasers, athletes and eating disorders, trauma/PTSD, self-identity, and LGBTQ+. Our culture often ignores the effect of the systems we live in, telling us to swim harder instead of questioning the water we’re swimming in. Together we’ll take a look at the water you’re in and learn together how you can best swim in it. I practice from a perspective that acknowledges both external and internal systemic influences on our ways of being. Together, we’ll process traumatic experiences with safety, cultivate self-compassion and resilience, and help you find your true self. By working to shed old habits of people-pleasing or avoidance, you’ll be empowered to live more authentically aligned with your values and your true self. My goal is to provide a safe environment where you can process your experiences and rewrite the narratives holding you back. I am able to adapt my approach to the specifics of your circumstances and love drawing on my training across several modalities, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR, excellent for traumatic experiences), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and person-centered, relational therapy. I’d be honored to journey with you to help you reclaim your well-being and thrive.
