Corey has over a decade of experience in the mental health field working as a community-based counselor, outpatient therapist, mentor, parent coach, and clinical supervisor. Corey’s original training was rooted in Structural Family Therapy that allowed him to work with children, adolescents, families, couples, and adults. Over the past few years, Corey has provided outpatient therapy and operated as an Anti-Racism Coordinator in order to facilitate cross racial conversations and create a healthy, safe, and diverse environment within the workplace.
Corey obtained a Master’s degree in Community Agency Counseling from Hampton University, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is currently a Counselor Education and Supervision PhD student at Mercer University. Corey is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia and Virginia, Nationally Certified Counselor, and Virginia Board Approved Supervisor.
Corey became a Licensed Professional Counselor after realizing there is often a reason or driving factor behind behavior. He continues this work because he believes when people have adequate support and their needs met, they can forge a path for their future.
