Not too long ago, I started on a journey driven by an intense desire to understand and guide others through the process of effective change. For over 12 years I have used this passion in my work as a Licensed Professional Counselor. This journey and my professional experience have confirmed my belief that we are much more than our past or a mental health diagnosis.
As we go through life, we are faced with challenges and difficulties. My goal is to support you through your journey and guide you to achieving your personal goals of becoming the person you aspire to be. I provide a non-judgmental and compassionate space that encourages open communication, inclusion, acceptance and positive outcomes. Together, we will work to improve your relationships, change any negative self-perceptions and/or emotions, and focus on developing new thinking patterns that will lead to your desired outcomes. Therapy is a process during which you will gain insight and utilize tools that will facilitate your continued growth and development.
I specialize in working with adults who suffer from symptoms related to trauma, anxiety, depression, mood instability, stress and anger management. Specific goals that we typically work toward might include building self-esteem, developing effective coping skills, increasing interpersonal skills, improving problem solving skills, reducing family discord, and increasing effective communication skills.
My approach to treatment utilizes Person Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused-CBT, Mindfulness-CBT, Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
