Kayla Oates, APC

Hi there! I am an Associate Professional Counselor with an undergraduate degree from Agnes Scott College in Psychology and Sociology, as well as a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University.

As a client-centered therapist, I seek to provide a compassionate, supportive and collaborative space for healing, self-discovery, and growth. I work with individuals who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or navigating difficult life transitions, helping them gain insight, build resilience, and move toward meaningful change.

My approach is person-centered and holistic, honoring each client’s unique pace and experiences while gently encouraging growth and deeper self-awareness. I incorporate mindfulness-based practices as part of the therapeutic process.

I have a special interest in working with concerns related to identity, self-esteem, guilt, trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression. My goal is to help clients strengthen coping skills, build confidence, and reconnect with their authentic selves.

My goal is to help clients strengthen coping skills, build confidence, and reconnect with their authentic selves, remembering always that, as Maya Angelou writes, “Still, like dust, I’ll rise.”
