Life can feel like you’re in a dark room, and you can’t seem to find the light switch on the wall. It is my goal to help guide you through the process of finding your light by building an authentic relationship with you, holding space with you, and supporting you through whatever life may bring. All I ask is that you bring the commitment and will to work on yourself through a process that often takes time.
I view life through the prism of art. My artist eyes see life as a canvas—one worth investing in, a masterpiece in the making. Living and breathing is in itself an art, a journey of discovery, an evolutionary process. Sometimes our lives look like fine art while at other times it can look more like a comic strip. I believe we are all born with a palette of colors at our fingertips, and we get to choose when, how, and where we create and what to do when we are faced with a messy palette. It can often feel like your canvas has no potential or that it is already a disaster; however, the fact is you can ALWAYS keep painting, always add new colors, always change the scene. I want to walk with you through that process and assist you with being able to love and care for the life you are in the process of creating.
I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2011. Over the past 18 years I have worked at a group home, psychiatric hospital, a children’s shelter, and two outpatient clinics. I bring a wealth of knowledge and understanding to any situation. I am familiar with a variety of treatment models and most often use Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Therapy. My background in art, counseling, psychology, and religion provides a unique perspective as we work together to find the next stroke of paint on your life’s canvas. I am currently seeing client’s ages 18 and up.
